As Principal Engineer at CleanaWater, Thiban Sank leads the design and delivery of advanced water, wastewater, and odour treatment solutions. With over 15 years of industry experience, Thiban is responsible for setting the technical direction of projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding engineering outcomes that are both practical and high performing. He also mentors junior engineers and works closely with clients to develop solutions tailored to their specific site and environmental requirements.
Thiban holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and brings deep expertise in industrial wastewater treatment, trade waste compliance, and modular system integration. His strength lies in developing reliable and efficient systems that balance operational needs with environmental responsibility.
One of Thiban’s key achievements has been the design of modular treatment systems incorporating PFAS removal (currently in trial), oil-water separation, and advanced filtration. These systems are particularly beneficial for sites without sewer access. He has also contributed to securing funding for sustainable technologies that support the development of next-generation water treatment systems.
A standout project involved designing a portable treatment skid for a remote industrial client. The system included oil-water separation, coagulation, pH correction, and PFAS polishing, helping the client meet compliance requirements without the need for major civil works. It demonstrated the value of modular innovation in delivering both environmental and commercial benefits.
Thiban also played a leading role in the design of a smart, modular wash bay system for Lawsons Port. The solution was tailored for plug-and-play operation with built-in automation and compliance features, reflecting the type of technically advanced and customer-focused work Thiban is proud to lead.
