Solid Waste & Water Surface Treatment
Surface odour control for wastewater and solid waste sites
Our solid waste and surface treatment products are particularly suited to wastewater facilities such as leachate lagoons and containment sites, as well as odorous surfaces at solid waste sites.
To effectively remove odours, contaminants and microbial pathogens, you’ll need to treat surfaces using more than just ultraviolet light. Our products are engineered to meet local standards for Australian surface treatments to minimise odours and maintain water quality in commercial and industrial applications.
Uses and applications
- Reduce biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) levels
- Surface treatment for different types of odours
- Reactants are added to water directly or sprayed onto surfaces
- Odour relief from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hydrogen sulfide (H₂S)
- Stop production of odorous by-products
- Lower levels of suspended solids and sludge in lagoons

How it works
Bektra 830F is a penetrating foam odour neutralising concentrate that cleans and prevents offensive odours with one simple application. It contains powerful detergents to break up heavy soils and grease, natural bio-stimulants to deactivate odour-producing mechanisms and non-aldehyde odour elimination technology that has been optimised for reducing amines terpenes and thiols. The concentrated formula is ideal for treating large surface areas that are heavily soiled with organics.
Unlike other surface water systems, Bektra 830F focuses on eliminating odours rather than being a treatment process used to disinfect water.
Solids and Surface Water Treatment in Three Easy Steps
Also known as surface treatments, surface odour control uses odour neutralising concentrates to manage surfaces that generate noxious smells. Its easy three-phase process starts with applying the foaming applicator to problem surfaces where select micronutrients within the foam directly penetrate the odour source's microbiology, instantly neutralising the offensive odour.
At Cleanawater, we only work with the best products. Bektra 830F Foaming Odour Neutraliser Concentrate is safe, natural, highly effective and produces long-lasting results.
Bektra 830F works in just 3 steps:
- The foaming application is blanketed over the problem area's surface
- The 830F micronutrient blend applies to the odour-producing biological processes
- A powerful contact deodoriser immediately neutralises the odours
The concentrate is usually applied using a simple spray device, which can easily be operated by one person.

Functional description
BioStreme™ 111F is suited to a range of odour-ridden surfaces involved in the storage and transport of solid waste as well as lagoons. The solid waste and surface water treatment is applied using a foam applicator for even distribution.
The biochemical make-up of BioStreme™ 111F changes the odour-producing processes while a deodoriser treats the immediate odour problem.
The BioStreme™ 201 surface treatment is applied to wastewater channels to encourage the growth of facultative bacteria in lagoons and holding tanks. Facultative bacteria allow for the decomposition of biological matter without the production of odours.
Product formulation
Cleanawater's solid waste and surface water treatments are made up of micronutrients, which are a natural mixture of amino acids, plant extracts, minerals, purines, pyrimidines and essential oils. There are no chemicals, bacteria or enzymes in these products, making them safe and non-toxic.
FAQs
Is your surface water treatment system non-toxic?
Yes, our surface water treatment system is non-toxic because it uses a natural mixture of amino acids, plant extracts, minerals and more micronutrients. We do not use chlorine dioxide, chemical substances or contaminants. Our goal is to remove odours, viruses, parasites and other contaminants in your wastewater and solid waste sites as naturally as possible.
How do we treat surface water?
Treatment plants, such as wastewater, solid waste and other water treatment plants, often struggle to effectively treat odours, contaminants and microbial pathogens. In these situations, UV light, chemicals and other disinfectants may not effectively treat viruses and pollutants safely.
We improve water quality through a unique product formulation designed for a treatment plant. Safely treat germs, pathogens and waste with our natural surface water treatment.
What industries is surface treatment suitable for?
Surface treatment is suitable for any business with containment sites that have contaminants and microbial pathogens. This can also include dry surfaces as well as surface water and water treatment. Our treatment process is suitable for industries including composting; food and dairy processing; landfill; meat and livestock; municipal wastewater and solid waste management.
